I have terrible anxiety what can I do to get rid of it or control it better?

I feel crazy these are the things I do CONSTANTLY bite my nails,pick at my cuticles,pick at the skin on my finger tips,bite pieces of skin on my tongue,bite the inside of my cheeks,and smoke cigarettes a pack a day…the thing is i used to have bad anxiety attacks to where i couldnt even go to the grocery store nor drive with out having them,then i went to a crapload of doctors and finally got on meds.I ended up pregnant and had to stop taking em a year and 8 months ago ever since then i started doing MORE of all these picking and biting things….i do not want meds again i have gained control of the anxiety attacks is there any other source?

you should try beathing deeply and closing your eyes and imaging yourself in your idea of the perfect place whether it be in a rock concert or with someone you feel comfortable with (when ever you have anxiety). you should also do yoga which has been proven to reduce anxiety.and maybe if you drink or consume any caffine you should try to minimize how much you are consuming. good luck. ps. the breathing tends to take affect within 2 to 3 minutes.sometimes anxiety doesn’t even set in.
