anxiety plan of care

I plan on travelling to Europe this summer and i am terrified of flying!?
How can i make this experience more enjoyable. I know you’re more likely to die on the way to the airport than on the plane. I am not scared of dying or the plane falling or what not. I am claustrophobic and have anxiety. This is why i am scared of flying, not because i don’t trust the air lines.
With that said, do you have any suggestions? What have you done to help you in previous flights. It will be a 11 hour flight. I appreciate any ideas. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
Take care.
I fly about every week for work and I really dislike the travel part. I used to just no like being in the air. Now, I just am so bored and so antsy, it’s awful. And then sometimes I get the claustrophobia feeling.
Do not take any drugs to put you out. If they don’t put you out then you are awake, feeling woozy, and just not very comfortable. Try not to sleep that well before you leave. If you are so tired that you are just “out” that’s a much better idea. For when you are awake, bring word games/suduko type stuff to occupy your time. Also, if you are bringing electronics, bring movies that you have been wanting to watch. I can’t read very well on a plane but if you can, that’s another option.
Book the seat on the plane early. Get an aisle seat. There is nothing worse then being stuck at the window or center and having the closed in feeling. If you are on the aisle you can pretty much walk around whenever you want. I often just stand at the flight attendent station at the back of the plane. If you don’t act like a bad guy, they will typically let you hang out.
Treats are also a good way to pass the time.
Have a great time!!
