anxiety versus panic attacks

panic attacks versus regular anxiety?????

what triggers regular anxiety to turn into panic attacks?

like when i’m with my mom and i’m really mad about something my brother did, i never get panic attacks. i just get really mad and start to cry.

when i’m at a debate tournament, i don’t feel that nervous, but i wanna win so badly and i’m unusure of how good the other team is at debating, and i get panic attacks all the time.

so i wanna know what triggers panic attacks? why are they not just regular anxiety? why do they turn to be so bad?

Feel it like this, general anxiety is a feeling of “impeding doom” which is to say, it hasn’t happen yet, you just think its going to happen, your stressed. While an actual attack would be more like “DOOM” your knee deep in it, with no way out, your back against the wall, no way out, AAAAAAAHHHHHHh. So it’s simply more intense. It’s what happens if you don’t have a way out, if their is no real hope that you’ve given yourself. Wow, debate team would be a reflection of someone who understands themselves enough to be able to stand for their principals, seems you need to give yourself some f’in credit and you might do fine in life.
